MY LIFE. MY THOUGHTS. MY WORDS.

Lana does Laundry...

I asked Lana to help me with the laudry. She's a real great happy little helper around the house. I was putting things away and the house was too quiet. I walked to the mud room and found that she had climbed up on top of the Dryer to start moving the damp clothes from washer to dryer. She didn't even wait for instructions. She just went to work and knew exactly what to do. I just love it.

Valentine's Day...

This was seriously one of the most hated occasions in my life, until I married my sweetheart. He's made every Valentine's Day and amazing one for me. I've never loved red roses so much until I married him. This was our fifth Valentine's Day together. I wasn't really looking forward to it, because it was on a Sunday and he had to work. Without fail, he made sure that I would wake up to this:

He also made sure Lana would experience a Happy Valentine's Day. Lana, our Princess was so excited about "LOVE" day. He wanted her to feel special on that day, too. So he set up this for her:

I'm not big about purchasing, what I've always considered a cliche, flowers, chocolates, stuffed teddy bears, cards from the store. I must admit, my husband has turned me into a sucker for these Valentine novelties. I was amazed and how charming he went about setting up our Valentines surprise. I made breakfast for him, before he went to work. While he was at work, I made sure the house was tidy, the laundry was cleared and that I had Lana fed and put to bed.

When he got off at night, he was surprised to receive a text message from me, that read, "Hope your hungry, I made a special reservation for two. Meet you in the kitchen at 10:15pm. It's a date!" He walked in the house to find it dark and dim. In the kitchen, he found candles lit everywhere, with a table set for two. I greeted him and served him a nice grilled Salmon dinner. We ate and laughed about funny moments we had together. Our song "I'll make love to you" by Boyz II Men was playing on the Ipod dock, in repeat, the entire time. As we finished dinner, the song started again and he asked me to dance in our Living Room. We slow danced and kissed through the song. He thanked me for a wonderful dinner and went to prepare for bed. I quickly cleaned up and made may way to the room for movies and a surprise massage. He's been working out so much, I wanted to help loosen up his muscles. Although, we had movies laid out as planned, we ended up watching "Mr. and Mrs. Smith". As we fell asleep, he kissed me on the forehead and said, he loved me so much. It was the most romantic evening we've ever had, in the comfort of our own home.

My Funny Valentine...

Before Valentine's came, many thoughts of last year's Valentine's. Last year, Sherwin was the Elder Quorum President at our old Lehi 42nd Samoan Ward. He and his incredible members of the Presidency, Bro. George Sauvao & Bro. Sisi Vaea planned an fascinating formal dinner and dance for couples only. Of course, children were watched in the Primary room. We played games during dinner, which included singing, complimenting, dancing and making up poetry for our spouses. Of course, with my luck, Sho and I got called up for Poetry. They sat him down on the chair, in front of me and everyone else that attended. I had 2 minutes to come up with a Poem to express my love in public for Sho. Here's what I came up with:

No words could never profess,
or ever completely express,
Everything I feel for you,
You know is true,
Sherwin, I love you, I honestly do. . .
Always have and always will.

Dinner and dancing was simply marvelous. I couldn't have asked for a perfect night with my husband and friends from church. On Sunday, we (Sho and I), along with Bro. and Sis. Fitu were invited to speak in a Special Valentine's Fireside about Love. I was the introduction speaker. Introduced Sho and I and told our story of how we met, how I quickly feel in love with him, how I waited for him during our ON and OFF time, together. But, most importantly how much I loved him and the blessings he brought to my life. It was a whole lot of comedy, laugh and kicks for the congregation, to hear us couples, talk about our significant other. However, to me it was hearing my husband for the first time, talk about why he fell in love with me. It was magical. It was a perfect Valentine's weekend.

Dear Fellow Bloggers...

Since I started blogging , it's been a great venture for me. I was introduced to the blog world by my dear SIL, last summer. I wasn't too sure about how to get started until, I stumbled across a few individual blogs. I was amazed by other blogger's creativity with pictures and post, which provided me details and a visual of what a day in their life is like. These were adventures, autobiography, close-up, confessions, diary, experiences, journal, letters, life history and story. There were memoirs, personal account, narrative, records, picture, profile, and sagas. Their own stories told in their own words and published by their own hands. Raw, yet simple truths.

Blogging is meant to be a noteworthy experience and not manipulated by animosity. I have grown a great respect, admiration and love for all the bloggers that I follow. Bloggers, I know personally and some I've never met. They have shared amazing stories, activities and truths. I've received creative concepts on how to spend fun time with my daughter, how and where to date my husband, DIY quick fixes, motivation to work it (my body) out, and FHE ideas. I have been touched by many bloggers who confess true convictions and compassion. This has granted me courage to post things that I may not be proud of but truly feel inside me. It's therapy for some and encouragement for others.

It's repulsive, that there are cynics who snoop in zealous and sleazy spite. Although, there are few, the reality is they exist. If anyone is at lost, it's those who use our post for the wrong reasons. In their appetite for gossip, they tend to gobble down everything before them, only to find, too late, that is is their own ideals they have consumed, and they have not been enlarged by the feast but only by the diminished. What disturbs people's minds are not events but their judgments on events. They may take your post and twist your logs but their intentions will never suppress your essence in any given circumstances. Remember that life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you react to it. Be not discouraged by these egotistical fibbers. Love one another, that is the height of all philosophy. My friends. . . know thyself and follow your bliss!

Respectfully yours,
Niva

I love...

I love being loved.
I love being in love.
I love everything about love.
The good and the bad,
I love all of love.

Wendover Weekend...

The guys walking into the Casino. Our plans to go to St. George and Vegas for the weekend never fell through because too many of my siblings couldn't make it. So, we went to celebrate my mother's birthday in Wendover. I honestly don't know why. I can't stand places like these, but it was fun. Fun weekend away from home. Always fun to be with family.

Biggest Loser...

It's that time again. . . (drum roll) Biggest Loser, Cybersource style, which I fail every year. Not because of bad eating habits and lack of cardio, but because of my health issues. Well, this year is different. Something has really awakened in me. I've been kicking my activity in gear. I've been recording my intake and not eating after 7pm. It's a struggle but I've been a bit more educated in "My Health and Wellness" department. Wish me luck to win that pot, this year!

With all that being said, I've never watched this "Biggest Loser" show before. I catch clips here and there. I should have watched it. It's quit motivation. I was so emotional. I don't know why I never watched this before. It was inspiring, when the old man on the Yellow team came back to weigh in and show that he lost 51 pounds on his own, and in 30 days. WHOA... My brother's are big fans because they enjoy fitness and they definitely show their support to our people. Meaning the Polynesian men who have stepped up to the challenge on this new and the last season. Anyways long story short, my brother Mone and I kept texting eachother during the show... funny funny conversation during the show.

Siniva: Hey Bro? You watching that BL show?

Mone: Yea

Siniva: Me too.

Mone: It's tight

Siniva: OH heck no... (during elimination) Hella drama.

Mone: I know, crazy, right?

Siniva: I don't like that white chick on the red team, what's her problem?

Mone: This was last weeks episode. The new one is next.

Siniva: That's tight! What happens after elimination? Do you still get trained or what?

Mone: No, but you get a free gym membership and sponsers that will help you until the season finale.

Siniva: OMG... I can't believe that blue team... 24lbs & 45lbs? WTH

Mone: LOL dang I wonder what the Yellow team weighs?

Siniva: I know right. I'm rooting for the Yellow Team, the dad looks like my father in Law. Body wise. LoL

Mone: (after commercial) Here we go...

Siniva: OMFG... That daddy lost 51lbs. WTF. . . in 30 days? There's hope! I'm all teary eyed. That old man is the bomb.com.

Mone: LoL Ash is emotional too. :) :)

Siniva: (watching the chick on the red team work out) This chick kills me.

Mone: LoL Such a freakin baby. Just makes me want to slap that lady!

Siniva: I know, right! WTH

Mone: (watching the challenge) Poor fat guy in the white team. HUH

Siniva: Go Sam!

Mone: Poor fat guy trying to come up with a stradegy, thinking about 80's music.

Siniva: OH HECK NO... He passed up the other guys and is going head up with the Sam on the gray team.

Mone: LOL. That damn 80's music!

Siniva: I think I'm going to try working out to 80's music. Not too fast, not too slow.

Mone: LOL

Siniva: Alright goodnight bro! I think I might sign up to be the next contestant.

Mone: That would be TIGHT!

Siniva: Love ya!

Mone: Love you too sis.

OH NO SHE DIDN'T. . .

My daughter has been grounded for almost a full week now, for being a bit dishonest about her school work. Grounding means no TV, sleeping over grandma's, friends or cousin's over the weekend, no swimming and no barbies. Although, my husband lectured Alana in a calm tone, her punishment was set for two weeks. We wanted to show her how serious we were about what she had done. It's actually been a great thing. She's become more creative with her markers, crayons and colored pencils. More reading everyday, is improving her speech and thinking skills. Alana has always blown me away with clever things that she has said, done and gotten away with. I only regret not recording any of it on paper journal or blog. However, yesterday's chuckle has not left my mind. She had a "OH NO YOU DIDN'T!" moment. Going on one full week of her punishment, not having the Television on, has really gotten to Lana. We were walking out of Grandma's house and saw birds flying towards the South in a V shape. Lana gazed at the sky, in amazement. The V shape broke into, what look like birds flying in a IV position. Lana was so excited and yelled, "Grandma, Mom, look the birds, they are talking to me" I asked her what are they saying to her, she replied, "They're saying TV to me". I was like, "Oh yea?" and she said, "yeah, they said I can watch TV", I asked, "Lana, are you sure?", she replied, "At least in the morning". (LOL) She is just too much, I tell ya, but still grounded.

Love is. . .
